Ciao for now....

That's all for now...I need to go see Christi and Eva! Christi may be coming home tomorrow...Eva in a couple months if all goes well. It may be hard to see from the pictures but Eva has quite a bit of hair, that appears black. It also appears krimped=curly!
She also is very full and healthy looking, not like some of the other premies we've seen. She is the size of a small baguette, or as we say here in Italy Panini!

Ave, Eva Claire!

I see Eva has inherited BOTH your noses. Happier than I can ever put into words, electronically or in person. Watching you two become the very best of parents (from our strange vantage of the lobby) has been one of the most poignant experiences I have known.

All my love to the three of you,

Amanda

Aunt Naomi fwd your email and blog to me. CONGRATULATIONS!!! What a beautiful blessing. We will certainly pray for you all and Eva's progress. I was also born early (12 weeks) at 2 lbs, 10 oz., (many years ago) so I'm living proof that one can not only make it through it, but with no major or lasting health problems! Although I have noticed that us really early premmies tend to be more stubborn than most people, so you may have your hands full down the road - ha!! Best wishes and welcome Eva! What a wonderful experience for us and our children - to join people the world over in storming the gates of heaven in prayer for this precious child and new family.

Christi - happy mother's day! You are radiant and such a beautiful mother! Seeing pictures of you brought tears to my eyes.

And what a dear baby! I am seeing some Uncle Charlie in that little face.

I'm reminded of the Dr. Seuss book "Horton Hears A Who"

"I'll just have to save him/ Because after all,
A person's a person
No matter how small...
Finally, at last!
From that speck on that clover/
Their voices were heard! They rang out clear and clean.
And the elephant smiled.
Do you see what I mean?
They've proved they ARE persons, no matter how small.
And their whole world was saved by the Smallest of All!"

According to my baby book, Eva means "bearer of good news". And what good news that she is doing so well. Sleep with the angels, sweet Eva -

May the Lord bless and keep you,
May His light shine upon you,
May you grow in wisdom, age and grace...

With love,
Sam, Kathleen, Greta, Angela, Michael, Josephine and Veronica Rauch
