Impending homecoming..

So here we are all up to date....Eva weighs as of yesterday 1740 kilos = 3.77 lbs. She would also be at 35 weeks should she still be in the womb. Not bad at all. She needs to reach 1.9 or 2 kilos to go home, have solid feeding habits, and be all around in great shape. Her feeding tube has been removed. She had a blood transfusion, which was scary, but routine and a good sign still. On any given day she will gain 50 grams. All of this to say we seem to be in line for a possible homecoming on Christmas Eve...

Dear Christi and Bill,

I literally had chills all over my body when I read this post! I ran to the phone to call Mom Rauch and share the news, at least with her voicemail. What a delightful thought - the three of you recreating the very first Christmas in your Italian home, swaddling clothes and all! We will continue to pray for that Christmas Eve arrival of Eva into your home. Indeed, the choirs of angels have much to sing about this Christmas!

On another note, our daughter Greta's third grade class at Prince of Peace routinely checks your blog and prays for Eva every morning. I asked Greta what the children think of seeing baby Eva. Greta responded, "I don't think they get it Mom. I just don't think they understand how small she is." Thank you for sharing your jouney with all of us.

With love,
Kathleen Rauch

I could not be more thrilled! What a wonderful and perfect gift for you all! Eva looks beautiful, healthy and strong and I'm sure that, in her and God, you draw strength too. Congrats to you all for making it through this chapter; I can't wait to read the next one:)

Merry Christmas,
